Working from home is the new normal.
Due to the circumstances off the last couple of months every single one of us has started working from home at least a few days a week. This transition has accelerated our use of Outlook and new kid on the block, Microsoft Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Teams allowed us to have meetings and face to face video conferences from our home or any location.
And Microsoft Teams also allowed us to store and share documents. Today we upload many drafts, offers, meeting bullets, presentations… to discuss and share with colleagues. But this new way of working also has repercussions on the challenges that go hand in hand with managing documents in a safe and correct way. An application as Smartdoc can be a valuable help.
Drag & Drop documents from Smartdoc in Microsoft Teams and make them available for everyone
From within the “search result window”, it is possible to drag & drop documents straight into a Microsoft Teams group or chat.
There is no need for in between steps. It is possible to share one file with Microsoft Teams or multiple files at once.
Versioning: collaborate on documents in Microsoft Teams and store the ultimate version in your central document repository
If the idea is collaboration, this process can also be supported from within Smartdoc. All it takes is to “check out” a document in Smartdoc and drag & drop it into the desired Microsoft Teams group. When completing the changes the finished version can be uploaded in Smartdoc again by drag & drop or by using our Microsoft Office plugin. This way it is perfectly traceable who did the last modifications, recover previous versions or to return to the original document. The users always have the most recent version at hand.
Links – Share documents in Microsoft Teams worry free
Smartdoc also launches the idea to share Smartdoc document links in Microsoft Teams. With this process it will be easier to share confidential files within Microsoft Teams worry free. When a Microsoft Teams member would click a file that he is not allowed to see, the Smartdoc security will disable this action. The securities defined in Smartdoc will overrule the demand to open a file shared by Microsoft Teams.
